a Protestant theologian of Germany, and professor of theology, who died at Berlin in 1863, is the author of Die Romische Kirche (Dresden, 1840): Die Union der Deutschen Kirchen (Breslau, 1843): Die Union in der Kirche (ibid. 1847): Praktische Theologie (Berlin, 1848, 2 volumes).
