Confessor , apostle of Naples ; born Grottaglie, Italy , 1642 ; died Naples, Italy , 1716 . He was ordained, 1666 , and spent four years teaching at the college of nobles in Naples . In 1670 he entered the Society of Jesus and for 40 years devoted himself to the evangelization of Naples . One of the most eloquent preachers of his time, he confirmed his work by striking miracles. Patron of Grottaglie. Canonized , 1839 . Feast , 11 May .
