(Heb. Chazo’, , perhaps for , vision; Sept. ,Vulg. Azau), one of the sons of Nahor by Milcah (Gen 22:22). B.C. cir. 2040. The only clew to the locality settled by him is to be found in the identification of Chesed, and the other sons of Nahor; and hence he must, in all likelihood, be placed in Ur of the Chaldees, or the adjacent countries. Bunsen (Bibelwerk, I, 2, 49) suggests Chazene by the Euphrates (Stephan. Byzant.), in Mesopotamia, or the Chazene () in Assyria (Strabo, 16, p. 736),

Son of Nahor and Milcah: the location of his descendants is not known. Gen 22:22. The name of Ha-zu-u (Hazu) has been found in the Assyrian inscriptions, which are thought to point out the settlement of Hazo to be on the borders of northern Arabia.
