akin to No. 1, is used (a) of place, “hence,” or “from hence,” Luk 4:9; Luk 13:31; Joh 2:16; Joh 7:3; Joh 14:31; Joh 18:36; in Joh 19:18, “on either side (one),” lit., “hence and hence;” in Rev 22:2; it is contrasted with ekeithen, “thence,” RV, “on this side … on that” (AV, “on either side”), lit. “hence … thence;” (b) causal; Jam 4:1, “(come they not) hence,” i.e., “owing to.”
