Hoglah
(Heb. Choglah’, , from Arab. for partridge; Sept. v.r. , etc.), the third of the five daughters of Zelophehad the Gileadite, to whom, in the absence of male heirs, portions were assigned by Moses (Num 26:33; Num 27:1; Num 36:11; Jos 17:3). B.C. 1619. SEE BETH- HOGLAH.

Hoglah
hogla (, hoghlah, partridge): The third of five daughters of Zelophehad of the tribe of Manasseh (Num 26:33). Zelophehad leaving no male heir, it was made a statute that the inheritance in such cases should pass to the daughters, if such there were, as joint heirs, on condition, however, of marriage within the tribe (Num 27:1-11; Num 36:1-12; Jos 17:3 f).
