“to raise,” is used of “hoisting up” a skiff, or little boat, before undegirding the ship, Act 27:17, RV, “had hoisted up,” for AV, “had taken up.” See AWAY, TAKE.

“to raise up” (epi, “up,” and No. 1), is used of “hoisting up” the foresail of a vessel, Act 27:40, RV, “hoisting up.” See EXALT, LIFT.
