Ir-shemesh
(Heb. id. , in pause , city of the sun; Sept. , Vulg. Hirsemes, id est civitas solis), a town on the border of Dan, mentioned between Eshtaol and Shaalabbin (Jos 19:41); probably the same as the BETH-SHEMIESH SEE BETH-SHEMIESH (q.v.) of Jos 15:10.
