Kames, Henry Home
(1696-1782) He was a well known Scotch lawyer of his day who later became one of the lords of justiciary and sat as a judge in the court of session. He became entangled in a free will controversy after the publication of his “Principles of Morality and Natural Religion.” His “Elements of Criticism” is a widely known classic in the field of aesthetics. — L.E-D.
