Kosa
(Skr.) “Sheath”, one of the envelopes of the soul or self concealing its real nature, which is pure consciousness. The Vedanta knows threethe anandamaya, vijnanamaya, and annamaya koias, i.e., the sheaths of pleasure, intellect, and food, composing respectively the karana, suksma, and sthula larira, meaning the causal, subtile, and gross frame or body. — K.F.L.
