Liborius, Saint

Confessor, Bishop of Le Mans, France, died 396. Of a noble family of Gaul, he joined the priesthood, and was ordained Bishop of Mans, 348. He was a friend of Saint Martin of Tours. During the 45 years of his episcopacy he built many churches. Patron of Paderborn; invoked against gravel and the stone. Emblems : pebbles, and a peacock. Relics at Paderborn and at Amelia in Umbria.
