1. The principal officer of, the second contingent of troops under Dodo, during the reign of David and Solomon (1Ch 27:4). B.C. 1014.
2. A descendant of Benjamin resident at Jerusalem, and father of Shimeah or Shimean; of the family of king Saul, but in what degree of relationship is not clear (1Ch 8:32; 1Ch 9:37-38). B.C. perhaps cir. 536.

There were two of this name, one the son of Abi Gibeon, (1Ch 8:32) and a Mikloth, one of David’s worthies. (1Ch 27:4) If the name be derived from Makel, it signifies rods or staffs.

(1) A Benjamite, son of Jeiel (1Ch 8:32; 1Ch 9:37, 1Ch 9:38). A comparison of the two passages shows that the name Mikloth has been dropped at the end of 1Ch 8:31.
(2) An officer designated the ruler, appointed in the priestly course for the 2nd month (1Ch 27:4).
