Pruning Hook
Pruning-hook
(, mazmerah; Sept. ; Isa 2:4; Isa 18:5; Joel 4:10; Mic 4:3), a knife for pruning the vine. The manner of tzrimming the vine (, zamdr), signifying clipping, and also the singular instrument of the vine-dresser, were well known even in the time of Moses (Lev 25:3-4), and no doubt both were similar to those employed by the Egyptians. Joe 3:10 (b) This represents a time when the instruments of peace will be changed into instruments of war because GOD will take peace away from the earth.
Mic 4:3 (b) By this we understand the opposite of the above in that the instruments of war will be changed into implements of agriculture and GOD will again give peace to the earth.
