Rarotonga, Cook Islands, diocese of
Erected as the Prefecture Apostolic of Cook and Manihiki on 27 November 1922, entrusted to the Congregation of Picpus. Renamed the Prefecture Apostolic of Cook Islands on 11 August 1926. Elevated to the Vicariate Apostolic of Cook Islands on 12 February 1948. Elevated to the diocese of Rarotonga on 21 June 1966, suffragan of Suva, Fiji. See also:
