Hebrew A town originally of Bashan, and called Sebam or Shebam (Num 32:3), but afterward assigned to Reuben who rebuilt it (Num 32:3; Num 32:38). Famous for its vines (Isa 16:8-9). Now the ruin Es Sameh, four miles E. of Heshbon.
