Sodomites
those who imitated the licentious wickedness of Sodom (Deut. 23:17; 1 Kings 14:24; Rom. 1:26, 27). Asa destroyed them “out of the land” (1 Kings 15:12), as did also his son Jehoshaphat (22:46).

Not inhabitants of Sodom, but those “devoted” (qedeeshim) to unnatural lust in Ashtoreth’s honour, as a religious rite! (Deu 23:17; 1Ki 14:24; 2Ki 23:7; Job 36:14 margin) There were women similarly “desecrated” to lust as a religious rite (Gen 38:21-22; Hos 4:14; translated 1Ki 22:38), “the dogs licked his blood while the ‘harlots’ (zonot) were bathing in the pool” early in the morning, as their custom was.
