Spare, Sparingly

“to spare,” i.e., “to forego” the infliction of that evil or retribution which was designed, is used with a negative in Act 20:29; Rom 8:32; Rom 11:21 (twice); 2Co 13:2; 2Pe 2:4-5; positively, in 1Co 7:28; 2Co 1:3; rendered “forbear” in 2Co 12:6. See FORBEAR.

Note: In Luk 15:17, perisseuo, “to abound, have abundance,” is translated “have enough and to spare.”
