sime-on (, Sumeon): the Revised Version (British and American) in Luk 3:30; Act 13:1; Act 15:14 for the King James Version Simeon (which see). The persons are:

(1) An ancestor of Jesus (Luk 3:30).

(2) Symeon, called Niger, one of the prophets and teachers in the church at Antioch (Act 13:1).
