SYNCHYSIS
SYNCHYSIS is the name of the Figure employed, when the order of the expressions in a sentence has been disturbed. Hyperbaton and Synchysis scarcely differ. It tends to the elegance of the language, if the Synchysis answers beautifully to the things described, as the Gnomon observes on Mat 27:53.-Comp. the Title HYPERBATON.
