Tertiary Qualities

Those qualities which are said to be imparted to objects by the mind. In contrast to primary and secondary qualities which are directed toward the objects (primary being thought of distinctly a part of objects) tertiary qualities are the subject’s reactions to them. A thing, for example, is said to be goodThe good points to the subject’s reaction rather than to the object itself. — V.F.
