The Fountain-Gate
The Fountain-Gate
( , sha’ar ha-A’yi; Sept. v, or v, Vulg. porta fontis; A.V. gate of the fountain) at Jerusalem was in the first or old wall, along the Valley of Hinnom, south of the Dung-gate, and adjoining the Pool of Siloam (from which it doubtless derived its name), at the mouth of the Tyropaeon (Strong’s Harm. and Expos. Append. page 11), SEE JERUSALEM.
