Tochen

A town of Simeon (1Ch 4:32). The statement of Jos 19:7 and Jos 15:42 implies Tochen in Chronicles is another name for Ether, in the shephelah or “low hills” between the mountains of Judah and the maritime low plain.

Tochen

token (, tokhen, task, measure; Codex Vaticanus , Thokka; Codex Alexandrinus , Thochchan): One of the cities of Simeon, mentioned with Rimmen and Ashan (1Ch 4:32). The name does not appear in Joshua’s list (Jos 19:7), but in that place the Septuagint gives Thokka, from which we may infer that the name has fallen out in the Hebrew. It is not identified.
