(Heb. Abidan’, ) , father of judgment, i.e. judge; Sept. ), the son of Gideoni, and phylarch of the tribe of Benjamin at the exode (Num 1:11; Num 2:22; Num 10:24). At the erection of the Tabernacle he made a contribution on the ninth day, similar to the other chiefs (Num 7:60; Num 7:65), B.C. 1657.

a-bdan (, ‘abhdhan, father is judge): Abidan, son of Gideoni, was a prince of the children of Benjamin (Num 2:22; Num 10:24). He was chosen to represent his tribe at the census in the wilderness of Sinai (Num 1:11). When, on the erection, anointing and sanctification of the Tabernacle, the heads of Israel offered, Abidan offered on the ninth day (Num 7:60, Num 7:65).
