Alexandria, Egypt, diocese of (Latin rite)
The diocese of Alexandria was one of the earliest. It was suppressed following the Islamic invasion. The Vicariate Apostolic of Egypt of re-established on 18 May 1839. Its name was changed to the Vicariate Apostolic of Alexandria, Egypt on 27 January 1951. Notable bishops through the years include
