Alkabaz (And Alkabets), Solomon Ben-Moses
a Jewish writer of Safed, in Upper Galilee, who flourished from 1529 to 1553, is the author of a commentary on the Song of Songs, entitled (Venice, 1552): on Esther, entitled (ibid. 1585):on Ruth, called , The Root of Jesse (Const. 1561); He also wrote religious hymns, , of which the hymn for the Sabbath eve, , Come, my beloved, is best known.
