Apherima
( in Josephus), one of the three governments () added to Judaea from Samaria (and Galilee, 1Ma 10:30) by Demetrius Soter, and confirmed by Nicanor (1Ma 11:34; comp. Joseph. Ant. 13, 4, 9; and see Reland, Paloest. p. 178). It is probably the same as the EPHRAIM SEE EPHRAIM of the New Test. (Joh 11:54) and the OPHRAH SEE OPHRAH (q.v.) of the Old.
