(Hebrews Azriel’, , help of God), the name of three men.

1. (Sept. ) The father of Jerimoth, which latter was phylarch of the tribe of Naphtali under David (1Ch 27:19). B.C. 1014.

2. (Sept. .) One of the valiant heads of families of the tribe of Manasseh east who were taken into captivity by the Assyrians as a punishment of their national idolatry (1Ch 5:24). B.C. cir. 741.

3. (Sept. .) The father of Seraiah, which latter was one of the persons ordered by King Jehoiakim to seize Baruch and Jeremiah, and imprison them for sending him the roll of threatening prophecy (Jer 36:26). B.C. 605.

(1) One of the leading men of the half-tribe of Manasseh, East of the Jordan, who with others of his tribe was carried captive by the king of Assyria (1Ch 5:24).

(2) The father of Jerimoth of the tribe of Naphtali in the reign of King David (1Ch 27:19).

(3) The father of Seraiah, one of the officers sent by Jehoiakim to arrest Jeremiah and Baruch (Jer 36:26).
