Bahyapratyaksa-vada
Bahyapratyaksa-vada
(Skr.) A Hinayana Buddhist theory (vada) of realism, otherwise known as Vaibhasika. It holds that objects exist outside (bahya) the mind and consciousness, but that they must be directly (pratyaksa) and not inferentially (cf. Bahyanumeya-vada) known. — K.F.L.
