Bauer, Karl Ludwig
a Protestant theologian and philologist of Germany, was born at Leipsic, July 18, 1730. In 1756 he was rector at Lauban, and in 1766 at Hirschberg, in Silesia, where he died Sept. 7, 1799. He wrote, Philologia Thucydideo- Pauclina (Halle, 1773): Logica Paulina, etc. (ibid. 1774): Rhetoricce Paulince (ibid. 1782). See Winer, Handbuch der theol. Lit. i, 80, 112, 132; Zuchold, Bibl.
