Beon
Beon
(Heb, Beon’, , apparently an early error of transcription for MEON SEE MEON [q.v.]; Sept. v. r. ), one of the places fit for pasturage given by Joshua to the tribes on the east of Jordan (Num 32:3). It is elsewhere more properly called BETH-BAAL. MEON (Jos 13:17), or more briefly BAAL-MEON (Num 32:38), and BETH- MEON (Jer 48:23), for which this name may be a contraction.
