Beschitzi, Elias
a Karaite of Adrianople, who died in 1491, is the author of , i.e. the mantle of Elijah, a ritualistic work, which is highly esteemed among the Karaite Jews. It was completed by his brother-in-lawCaleb Afendopulo, and was printed at Constantinople in 1531. A new edition was published by Firkowitz (Eupatoria, 1835; latest edition, Odessa, 1870). (B.P.)
