Capharetaea

a village of Samaria, the native place of the heretic Menander, according to Justin Martyr (v, Apol. 2), but Eusebius (Ecct. Hist. 3:26) cites the name somewhat differently (), and Theodoret (Compend. Haeret. Fab. 2) has Chabrae (v); so that the place is altogether doubtful.
