Comprises the counties of Gwent, Herefordshire, Mid Glamorgan, South Glamorgan, Wales. Founded as the Vicariate Apostolic of Wales District in 1840. Elevated to the diocese of Newport and Menevia on 29 September 1850. Name changed to the diocese of Newport in 1895. Elevated to the archdiocese of Cardiff on 7 February 1916. Suffragans:
