Concurrence

Concurrence

Concurrence

The doctrine of Augustine that before the Fall it was possible for man not to sin, but he needed God’s help, adjutorium sine quo non. After the Fall man needs God’s grace or concurrence which acts with him, adjutotium quo, with which he must co-operate. The term also signifies, concursus, or the general cooperation of God, the primary cause, with the activity of all creatures, as secondary causes. — J.J.R.
