“to take counsel together,” is translated “consulted together,” in Mat 26:4, AV (RV, “took counsel.”) See COUNSEL.
a word of the Graeco-Roman period (akin to A, No. 2), “counsel, advice,” is translated “consulation” in Mar 15:1 (with poieo, “to make”), “to hold a consultation;” elsewhere “counsel” in the RV, except in Act 25:12, where, by metonymy, it means a “council.” See COUNCIL.
