Abbot , born territory of Ely O’Carroll, Ireland ; died 640 . He spent his youth in Connaught, but returned to his native district, c.610 , founded the monastery of Roscrea, and established his famous school. Patron of Roscrea, Tipperary. Feast , 28 April .
