Gabriel Lalemant, Blessed
Martyr , born Paris, France , 1610 ; died Huron country, Canada , 1649 . He entered the Society of Jesus, 1630 . In 1646 he came to Canada as assistant to Blessed John de Brebeuf with whom he suffered a horrible martyrdom at the hands of the savages. Beatified , 21 June 1925 .
