Gershonites, The
Ger’shonites, The. The family descended from Gershon or Gershom, the son of Levi. “The Gershonite”, as applied to individuals, occurs in 1Ch 26:21. The sons of Gershon (the Gershonites) had charge of the fabrics of the Tabernacle — the coverings, curtains, hangings and cords. Num 3:25-26; Num 4:25-26.
