(, mikbar’, something twined, from , to braid; Sept. ), a network of brass for the bottom of the great altar of sacrifice (Exo 27:4; Exo 35:16; Exo 38:4-5; Exo 38:30; Exo 39:39), placed horizontally in the fire-bed so as to allow the cinders, ashes, etc. to pass through, and a draught of air to sup ply the fire upon it.
