(Heb. Chakalyah’, ; according to Gesenius, whose eyes Jehovah enlivens; according to Frst, ornament of Jehovah; Sept. v.r. ), the father of Nehemiah, the governor after the captivity (Neh 1:1; Neh 10:2). B.C. ante 447.
