(Heb. Chareph’, , plucking off; Sept. v. r. ), the fatherof Beth-Gader, and sonof Caleb of Judah by one of his legitimate wives (1Ch 2:51). B.C. cir. 1612. The patronymic Haruphite(q.v.) seems to connect this with HARIPH.
