Hebronites
[Heb’ronites]
Descendants of Hebron the son of Kohath. They were a numerous and important Levitical family. On the west of the Jordan Hashabiah and his brethren, 1700 ‘men of valour,’ were officers of Israel; and on the east, Jerijah and his brethren, 2700 ‘mighty men of valour,’ were over the two and a half tribes. Num 3:27; Num 26:58; 1Ch 26:23; 1Ch 26:30-32.
