Hephzi-bah
(Heb. Chephtsi-bah’, , my delight is in her), a (fem.) real and also symbolical name.
1. (Sept. ,Vulg. Hacphsiba.) The mother of king Manasseh, and consequently queen dowager of king Hezekiah (2Ki 21:1). Notwithstanding the piety of her husband, and her own amiable name, her irreligion may be inferred from the character of her son. B.C. 709-696.
2. (Sept. ,Vulg. Voluntas mea in ea.) A figurative title ascribed to Zion in token of Jehovah’s favor (in the return from the Captivity, and especially in the Messiah’s advent), in contrast with her predicted desolation (Isa 62:4).
