Intentional Theory of Mind

The definition of mind in terms of intentionality (See Intentionality) which originated in the Scholastic doctrine of intentio, was revived by F. Brentano (Psychologie vom empirischen standpunkte, 1874) though his influence has become a characteristic theory of German phenomenology. See Phenomenology. — L.W.
