Isaac ben-Moses

also called AVOJI, who flourished in the latter half of the 16th century, deserves our notice as the author of

(1.) a Commentary on the Pentateuch, entitled , or Consolations of God (Saloniki, 1578-9); and

(2.) a Commentary on Ecclesiastes, entitled , or the Gatherer of the Congregation (ibid 1597), which are both valuable contributions to the exegetical literature of the O.T. Scriptures. See Kitto, Bibl. Cyclop. 2, 410; Steinschneider, Cathol. Lib. Hebr in Biblioth. Bod. col. 1139.
