( v. r. , Vulg. Aecubus), given in the Apocrypha (1Es 9:48) as the name of one of the Levites who supported Ezra in reading the law; evidently the AKKUB SEE AKKUB (q.v.) of the corresponding Heb. text (Neh 8:7).
