Jekuthiel ben-Isaac, Blitz
also called by his father’s name, Isaac Blitz, was corrector of the press at the printing establishment of Uri Febes Levi at Amsterdam, and was the first Jew who translated the whole O.T. into German (in Hebrew type). It was published under the title (The four-and-twenty Books translated into German), with (8 ) Ralbag’s , or Usus on Joshua, Judges, and Samuel, and a threefold introduction, viz. a Hebrew introduction by the translator, a Latin diploma from the Polish king, John Sobieski III, a Judaeo-German introduction by the publisher, and a German introduction by the translator (Amsterd. 1676-78).
