Joseph, Albo
Joseph, Albo
(1380-1444) Jewish philosopher. His Ikkarim, i.e., Dogmas is devoted primarily to the problem of dogmatics. He differs with Maimonides who fixed the Articles of Creed at thirteen, and posits only three fundamental dogmas.
Belief in the existence of God;
Divine origin of the Torah;
Reward and punishment.
The others are of secondary importance. See Jewish Philosophy. — M. W.
