Meah
Meah
(Hebrews Meah , a hundred, as often; Sept. , ; Vulg. cenztum, Emnath), a tower in Jerusalem, situated on the eastern wall (Neh 3:1; Neh 12:39), probably at the north-eastern angle of the Temple enclosure (Strong’s Harmony and Expos. of the Gospels, Append. ii, p. 19; but it is not likely that the outer wall was different from that of the Temple, as supposed by Dr. Barclay, City of the Great King, p. 152). Me’ah. (a hundred). The tower of Me’ah. One of the towers of the wall of Jerusalem when rebuilt by Nehemiah, Neh 3:1; Neh 12:39, appears to have been situated somewhere at the northeast part of the city, outside of the walls of Zion.
