from kata, “down,” intensive and artios, “fit,” has three meanings, (a) “to mend, repair,” Mat 4:21; Mar 1:19, of nets; (b) “to complete, furnish completely, equip, prepare,” Luk 6:40; Rom 9:22; Heb 11:3 and in the Middle Voice, Mat 21:16; Heb 10:5; (c) “ethically, to prepare, perfect,” Gal 6:1; 1Th 3:10; 1Pe 5:10; Heb 13:21; and in the Passive Voice, 1Co 1:10; 2Co 13:11.
