Dublin, Ireland. One of the two universities established as a result of the New Universities Act passed, 1908, by which the Royal University (1880-1908) was suppressed. It was created undenominational but subserves Catholic interests. Faculties: art, philosophy and sociology, Celtic studies, science, law, medicine, engineering and architecture, and commerce.
